From the book of the prophet Isaiah 58:1-12 Here is my favorite part:
This, rather, is the fasting that I wish: releasing those bound unjustly, untying the thongs of the yoke;
Setting free the oppressed, breaking every yoke;
Sharing your bread with the hungry, sheltering the oppressed and the homeless;
Clothing the naked when you see them, and not turning your back on your own.

REFLECTION: In the Gospel of Life, Pope John Paul states that no person or group, including the Catholic Church has a monopoly on the defense of life. He called on all Christians, and all people of goodwill, to cooperate with each other in this effort.
PRAYER: Lord, enable those who work for the defense of life to accept one another and to rejoice in the fruits of their collaboration.
